What is a Claude Code skill?

A folder with written instructions (SKILL.md) and, here, small Python scripts. Claude Code reads the instructions when your request matches and follows them step by step. You install a skill by copying its folder into ~/.claude/skills.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You copy the folders once with the command in the README, then ask in plain words, for example: Find the 3 best moments in my-video.srt for Shorts. The README has a test prompt for each skill and sample files to try it on.

Does it work with ChatGPT or other AI tools?

No. The skills are written for Claude Code and tested there.
